The Ancestral Orchard!

Here I have not taken ancestors or the science involved in the study. It is about incidents, some decades ago. I have just imagined that the children were free to move to places they liked and play games they preferred at that time.Only restricted restrictions were there.

Ancestral Orchard!

Flowers from gardens
Ancestors', blessings from God,
I pluck as I see.

   I walk, old-old time-
   in orchards; mangoes and
  Cashews swing in wind.

Turn little men to
Fairs, their vacant time; golden
 Balls of wild jack, wink!

Carts scent to little
Noses wind; stones hit fruit;
 Gold balls fall in base.

Little legs run, pick
Fruit; gluttons snatch, suck, fight,hit
And beat, they play well.

Blows on little thighs,
Tears in eyes; kiss dearly and
 Hug finally moms.

  2. Hello greetings and good wishes.

Wonderful poem capturing the fabulous times we had as children in the ancestral land when we were carefree, full of joy and happy. Those times will never come back but will remain in our memory for ever.

There was so much fun not only playing in the orchards but while bathing in ponds, catching fish, giving a hand at planting seeds, ploughing the field with cousins etc.

Very well written and enjoyable poem.

    Best wishes

  4. I especially love the wild energy of this verse -
    'Little legs run, pick
    Fruit; gluttons snatch, suck, fight,hit
    And beat, they play well.'
    - the words seem to tumble over each other much as the children must have done :-)
