Patience!

Patience from a person is a precious jewel,

that lessens the heightened anger of his rival,

who has stretched large, the pinnacle of his ire,

and it helps unravel his wrath-woven lure.

A word that, of late, gets greatly tapered

in its expansion and signification regard,

has become an uncommon unusual factor,

as now impatience sticks to one's character.

A beautiful bloom, now required highly

at this crucial moment of chaos in society,

is said to be common, but uncommon currently,

as its lessening size is sizable really.

Patience to listen to the prattling of toddlers,

Patience to attend to the welfare of elders

Patience to wait, patience to heed to others,

and patience to get gratitude is this bloom’s petals.

This bloom does not blossom in orchards,

possessed by confused frenzied minds.

Well, the plants of this class grow only in

the land made ready for snag’s solution.

This flower with its prettiness is adequate,

for the stress and strain to be moderate.

You can't obtain this flower from everyone,

As it grows not in everyone’s garden.

Requires it a broad-minded gardener,

who sows and grows its seeds with care,

using his reasons as the exact manure

and well sprinkling his soberness as water.

Have endurance, enlarging the area of the mind,

cultivate the culture of being always patient,

empathy, you contain for others sufficient,

and evade your impatience to avoid being a patient.

  4. My mother has always told me I was behind the door when they passed out patience....and I have to admit I seem to be lacking in the virtue!

  6. "Patience to attend to the welfare of elders" is a trait I love for folk to show. I classify, I guess, at age 87. Once I could relate for a madman driver but not here. Out of cars, in a handicap spot, I had to go sit on a curb and slow my heart while he ranted. I had said something he didn't want to hear.
Very nice exposition, Rudy, and useful advice to match. Thank you for peeking in on me, I may have been silly, and for your understanding comment.

  7. Love that last stanza. So much to be said of patience, and so hard to come by at times.
