Farmers and oxen
Prepare bed for seedling kid.
Rises Rice in field.
Grins Dawn, hums Paddy
Soft melody; join little
Birdies in Chorus.
Seedlings are in youth,
Attain Rice-pals adulthood
Grinning much gaily.
Lift in hand bunches
Of blooms Paddy in field; spreads
Fragrance all around.
Taking flowers in
In hand Wind smiles
lovably; shake
Head Paddy in glee.
The philanthropist
Paddy feeds and fills stomachs.
A sense of pleasure.

DeleteThe poem describes nature at it's best :) Paddy fields definitely give pleasure - the fresh green colour, fragrance and they dance with the wind when ripe and ready to harvest :) Well written.

ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteBeautifully written poem. The following words captivated my attention.
Taking flowers in
In hand Wind smiles lovably; shake
Head Paddy in glee.
These words transported me to my childhood holidays in Trichur. My mother,my siblings and I went regularly to our native place in Trichur and visited our relatives living in different villages. We used to start early in the morning and walk through pathways in the fully grown beautiful green paddy fields. When the wind starts blowing the tall fully grown paddy plants bend and sway alluringly to one side with a swishing sound. It was a magnificent sight and music to my ears which I can never forget.
Lovely poem.
Best wishes
Very vivid... a thought well conveyed :)
ReplyDeleteThank you,Loco.
