ചന്ദനഹള്ളിഭഗവതി!

ഞാനൊരു  പുസ്തകം അടുത്തകാലത്ത്  വായിച്ചു . അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള  എൻറ്റെ  അഭിപ്രായം  ഒന്നെഴുതണമെന്നു  തോന്നി . കാരണം  വായനക്കാരനെ  ഊണുമുറക്കവുമുപേക്ഷിച്ച്  പുസ്തകത്തിൽ മുഴുകാൻ  പ്രേരിപ്പിയ്ക്കുന്ന  ഒരു  ആഖ്യായികയാണതെന്നുള്ള  കാര്യത്തിൽ  തെല്ലും  സംശയമില്ല. ഇതൊരു പുസ്തക വാചാരമൊന്നുമല്ല.എങ്കിലും അതിനെ .ക്കുറിച്ചൽപ്പം ഇവിടെക്കുറിയ്ക്കുന്നു.

നമ്മുടെ  അയൽ സംസ്ഥാനമായ  കർണാടകത്തിൽ  നടക്കുന്ന  ഒരു  കഥയാണ്. വാസ്തവികതയാണിതെന്നു പലപ്പോഴും  തോന്നിപ്പോയി. അത്രയ്ക്കും  മാസ്‌മരികത  തുളുമ്പുന്ന  കാല്പനികതയാണിതിൽ കാണുന്നത്.

 ഈ പേരു കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ ഏതോ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൻറ്റെ പരിസരത്തെ കഥയാണെന്നു തോന്നാം. പക്ഷെ അത് ഒരു ചത്ത  കഴുതയെമൂടിയ സ്ഥലത്ത് ആ കഴുതയുടെ തോഴിയായ പെൺകുട്ടി ചന്ദനത്തിരി കൊളുത്തുന്നതാണ്. ആളെക്കണ്ടു പെട്ടെന്നു മറയുന്ന പെൺകുട്ടിയെ ദേവിയായി തെറ്റിദ്ധരിച്ച് അവിടെയൊരു ക്ഷേത്രമുയരുന്നതും ഇതിൽ കാണാം. അന്ധവിശ്വാസമാണെങ്കിലും അതിലും ഒരു ദർശനം ദൃശ്യമാണ്. കഥ മുന്നേറുമ്പോൾ ഈ പെൺകുട്ടി കേന്ദ്രകഥാപാത്രം ആകുന്നുണ്ട്. 

കർണാടകത്തിൻറ്റെ  ജീവിതരീതിയും, കേരളം, മഹാരാഷ്ട്ര, രാജസ്ഥാൻ, ഗുജറാത്ത്.  ഒറീസ, തുടങ്ങിയ  സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലെ  പാരമ്പര്യ  കലകളുടെ  പാരസ്പര്യത  വിളിച്ചോതുന്ന  ആഖ്യാനശൈലിയും  വായനക്കാര ന്  ഒരു  പുതിയ  ഉൾക്കാഴ്ച നൽകുന്നുണ്ട്.

 കഥകളി,കഥക്ക്, രാസ്, മോഹിനിയാട്ടം,ഭരതനാട്യം,ഒഡീസി  തുടങ്ങിയ  നൃത്തങ്ങളുടെ  ശാസ്ത്രീയതയും, കലാമൂല്യവും,അർത്ഥസാരാംശങ്ങളും  വളരെ  മഹനീയമായ ഭാഷയിൽ  ഹൃദ്യമായ   ശൈലിയിൽ  പ്രതിപാദിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതാകുന്നു .

മുംബൈയിലെ  ചുവന്നതെരുവുകൾ  എന്നു കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ  തന്നെ  മുഖം  ചുളിയ്ക്കുന്നവർക്കുവേണ്ടിയുള്ള  ഒരു  പഠനപ്രക്രിയ  ഇതിലുണ്ട്. ഒരുചാൺവയറിനുവേണ്ടിയുള്ള  ദുർവൃത്തിയ്‌ക്കൊപ്പം  ശാസ്ത്രീയ   കലകൾ  ശാസ്ത്രീയതയ്ക്കു  ഭംഗംവിനാ   അവിടെ  പരിപോഷിപ്പിയ്ക്കപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ട്.

പണ്ഡിതൻറ്റെ യും , പാമരൻറ്റെയും, ധനവാൻറ്റെയും ,  ദരിദ്രൻറ്റെയും  മനോവിചാരങ്ങൾ  മനസ്സിൽ  തട്ടും  വിധം  പ്രതിപാദിയ്ച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. 

വായനക്കാരനെ  സന്തോഷിപ്പിയ്ക്കുകയും  സങ്കടപ്പെടുത്തുകയും  ഇരുത്തിച്ചിന്തിപ്പിയ്ക്കുകയും   ചെയ്യും   എന്നുള്ളതിനു സംശയമേയില്ല.

സാധാരണയായി  കാൻസർ ,ഡയബെറ്റീസ്  എന്നീ  രോഗങ്ങളെ  കേന്ദ്രീകരിച്ചുള്ള  ആഖ്യായികകളും  കഥകളുമാണു കൂടുതലും കാണുന്നത്.  എയ്ഡ്സ്  എന്ന രോഗം വിരളം. ഈ കഥയിൽ ആ മഹാരോഗം ആണു നായകന്.അയാളും ആവോളം അനുകമ്പയ്ക്കു പാത്രമാണിതിൽ. ഞാൻ കഥയെക്കുറിച്ച് ഒന്നും തന്നെ എഴുതുന്നില്ല. വായിച്ചുതന്നെ അതിൻറ്റെ രസം നുകരണം.

മൊത്തത്തിൽ മഹനീയമായ  ഭാഷയും വിജ്ഞാനപ്രദമായ  വിവരണങ്ങളും ഒക്കെ ചേർന്ന  ഈ പുസ്തകം വായനക്കാരനെ ആകർഷിയ്ക്കുമെന്നുള്ളത് നിശ്ചയം. 

  

ഇംഗ്ലീഷിലേക്കു  വിവർത്തനം  നടക്കുന്ന ഈ പുസ്ഥകം കന്നടയിലും  താമസിയാതെ വെളിച്ചം കാണും.

   ഈ  പുസ്തകത്തിൻറ്റെ  രചയിതാവ്    ശ്രീ S R K പിള്ള (പേരൂർ ഈരേഴ തെക്ക്. മാവേലിക്കര)  ആകുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് എല്ലാവിധ ആശംസകളും.

Publication of Books!

Publication of books is not that easy for a writer who has no label as a writer or author. Of course renowned authors magnetize the publishers and the latter even wait for a nod from the former with regard to publishing a material of their creativity.  But this is not the case with the neonatal writers. The doors of Publication houses do not open in front of them. One cannot blame them because they are apprehensive about the demand of the books.

My mind used to walk over the fields of thoughts and feelings for much long. In fact it went on travelling from real incidents to unfeasible happenings. It started sowing the seeds of imagination in thoughts and feelings. They grew up as words and sentences and I allowed them to lie on leaves of papers. I titled them with the pet names story, article, poem etc.  

 I don’t know if writers of high caliber would accept these names or not. A child is prized much to its mother, may it be exquisite or not and so also my progeny to me.  So I stopped not reproducing my written progeny. It goes on now also as it did earlier. But hither thither I had to come to halts because the fast runner, Time, without pausing a moment for me, many a time had been running away.

It is the long cherished crave of a writer to see his books in prints. But the publishers do not or cannot acknowledge the new writers. Are they fully confident about the content of the writer’s confinement, they support the birthing of his/her offspring.

 Nonetheless I had never undertaken the risk of dreaming for having a book published.

 Mainly there are two reasons for that. 1) I don’t know if my products are worth publishing ( My next of kin complain that I express  humility more than needed in grading my work; but remember they are my next of kin) and  2) Writers are born in plethora, just as for every drizzling spring up weeds and grasses . Of course there are a lot many who contain untainted talent which is a boon from the Almighty. The recognition sphere of many writers  inflates only within limits or rather it remains unobserved.

Somehow now I came to understand from my sister that Valmeeki Publishers publish the unknown writers’ work as e-books. So I thought ‘why not I give a trial for that?’ I rummaged in the website of ‘ Vameeki’ and I found the required, as I desired. And my e-book has seen light  and here is it, though it may be a petite dot in  writers’ world.

 Hope  you all will spare a little time to read it. If you download and read in Android on a payment of Rs.10.oo(Rupees Ten),it would be helpful for the publisher.

Awards are actually ornaments conferred on people in recognition to their actions whatever field they are affianced in. Award- the very word itself has grace and reverence.  It garnishes the contribution of the beneficiary with encouragement and enthusiasm, so that they become all set to pour in more effort in their creativity. It is the upshot of the acknowledgment of others for them. 

Even if one doesn’t deserve an award, the desire to be recognized lingers in one’s mind. And I am not an exception to it, though I don’t fall in the category of that high-grade people. So I am really indebted to Locomente who has elevated me by   nominating for the Sunshine award.

Telling about me by myself is not a straightforward task that I have to say I am this and I am that and so on. But anyway since I have to do it here I’ll do thus.

I didn't have a plan to make my presence here since my schedule allots me very little time for blogging. But when I had a glance at the numerous participants my mind instructed me to have  a trial. I strongly feel that a trial can be initiated by any person and that is why I have also positioned myself near the steps. And so here I am.

I am not sure whether my participation will be as regular as the other ones or not, but I am sure it is a platform of friendship to be cherished and flourished. So my appreciation and gratitude are due to the parents of this brainchild.I don't choose a particular theme, I opt for random writing, as whatever creeps to my mind will reflect here.

I am really indebted to you for having been nominated for an award. But the fact is that I was nominated earlier also for this award(Leibster Award). Nevertheless I like the questions you have asked here and so I would answer them in my own little way.

1.       I write because some ideas are born in the womb of my thoughts and they come out to the open providing me fun and fancy.

2.    I wanted to see my ideas in the cradle of some platform and this is an apt one for amateurs like me.

4.     Not at all that of the present. The politicians believe in a governance of them, for them and by them only! Only! And only.

An award may it be small or big, it is an honour for the recipient. It’s a reward or recognition for the effort one renders in any field. Recognition is refreshment to the tired traveller taking numerous routes to carry out his mission of life, may it be in his little area.  Myself in Brief !

1. I am the Kitchen in-charge of my own house, currently. I accede to everybody’s opinion to convert our house into a home.
2. I express or exhibit hesitation nil to accept other’s suggestions. Others render their assistance to me as per requirement.
3. I am a veteran in households and hence I feel that I manage the same without flaws many(to err is human and I am no exception, though).
4. Though I was rapacious in reading, time constraint doesn’t allow me to reach reading materials. Since I am a village-breed I haven’t read world classics and all such things.
5. In spite of my limited precious time I never turn away from reading and comprehending blog-posts of my blogger-friends and so also news papers and magazines, small novels etc. of any standard.
6. I believe in making relation-ship, not in breaking it. So I tolerate hurts from others to a certain degree.
7. I have highlighted my positives only, but being an ordinary homo among homo- sapiens I too have some weak points in my personality.
8. Though I succumb to my anger slowly only, my ire irks others by way of words or silence, gesture or action and absence or body language.
9. I am branded as argumentative by my best-half, for which I stand that argument takes its birth between two persons or parties and so both the parties are argumentative.
10. Even small-small worries conquer me, even though I myself find means to erase them after a while. Sometimes I locate myself more to dogmatism than practical pragmatism and vice-versa also.

Wagah  border near India Pakistan border. With my spouse.

No pets because I can enjoy them from a distance only. Of course cow and calf occupy a loving corner of my heart..

4) Half a million dollars for slogging for 6 months a year or a week’s peace on the beaches of Bahamas?

Well, I go for slogging for six months and for peace during the remaining half of the year with a substantial amount of money with me.

5) What is your deepest fear?

The heartless burglars of the time and also the future of coming generations in this corrupt world.

6)How did you propose your girl/guy? Or how you plan to do so?

Not me, my parents only did it.

7)One ‘Ctrl + Z’ moment of your life? Something you want to undo if you had a choice?

All that I have committed without a second thought.

None and I consider my spouse to be a celebrity..

As of now nothing of that kind. I believe in God. And I feel that my  ‘Deity’

will lead me and I will follow him.
