Answer the following questions about yourself:

1. If you had Rs.50,000 to just blow up (you have to spend it on YOURSELF. Giving to Charity or buying gifts for others is not allowed), what would you spend it on and why?
   Visit places of my interest.

2. Name three of your closest friends (not family or spouse) and say why you love them.

Free time, Reading Materials and Children because they can enchant me above all other friends.

3. Name three books which have profoundly affected you and which you would recommend to everyone to read.

Usually, I read magazines and newspapers only. At times I read some novels in Malayalam.

4. If you know for certain that you can never ever fail, what would you attempt to do?

Try to bridge porous relationships through counselling in my own way.

5. What is THE ONE THING that you want very very badly?

More free time for this kind of creativity within my limit is the one thing...

Teaching is a Refreshing Tea.

Teaching  profession should aim at determination, dedication, devotion and discipline leading  to moulding the future of children and thus that of the country, according to me and so am I a teacher.
Eagerness, wherever and whenever a teacher feels,he/she should try the maximum to satisfy the person concerned.
Advice when required, should be poured by  a teacher.

Care is another quality of a teacher and every teacher should  take care of the taught.
Activity- promotion from the teacher's side ends in effective teaching.
.Kindling the spark already in children will produce a wide flame of enthusiasm and regular monitoring with complimentary words create a zeal in children's minds.
Energizing the situation through informal chit- chat etc.turns the atmosphere conducive for learning and all these contribute to 'Tea and Cake' to refresh the young minds as 'teacher' has 'tea' with her.

Stain in Relationship when Strained!

‘Can relationship be like a tea- stain? Why or why not?’
Preeti Shenoy

  Strained Relationship, a Discolor!

Of course, relationship sometimes turns to be a stain or like a tea- stain, when it gets strained. As ‘Every cloud has a silver lining’ every shining thing has a shady area. Relationships are refreshing the mind, energizing the body and entertaining the participants. Relationships vary from place to place and person to person.
Some people attribute much value and worth to their relationships and they keep them like diamonds very dear in value. Some others take them as time- pass games leaving no marks of attachment  in their judgment. Relationships may be of various kinds as deep, shallow, intimate ,superficial , sincere, name-sake and the like. Sole dependence on one another for everything may bring much frequency in association. And this in turn may spoil the sweetness ,as ‘Too much is always too bad’. Eventually in this condition of the relationship one may bolt out the other, creating a blot in his character. Here the relationship becomes strained and imprints between them a stain like tea- stain, which, if needed, with immediate cleaning( arriving at a compromise) can be cleared off.

No solution if No Problem

Preeti Shenoy is a well known blogger and an author of a few books. The prompt for today is a quote  by Bernard-Paul Heroux.

'There is no trouble so great or grave that cannot be much diminished by a nice cup of tea.'  ~Bernard-Paul Heroux

Sitting around a table or in a grasslawn in the pretext of a cup of tea solves the problems if any, half way. While sipping the tea offered by  one party or ordered by the other ,naturally  a conversation takes place. This conversation may pass through discussion, clarification, apology, repentance ,sharing etc.Such things pour out the real cause of the problems which itself finds a solution. And this solution dissolves or diminishes the problem however grave it may be, for many problems crop up due to not understanding fully   or misunderstanding the situation of its occurrence.

People may ask
'Why to create  a problem,
 Solution ,problem only brings.
Life moves on problems and solutions
Let there be so problems and solutions.'

A Friend indeed, not a Friend in Need!

The 27th of October,2008 was a fine sunny day. As usual, I was busy in my class, standing in front of the students. A phone call informed me about the inevitability of my presence at home. Wasting not even a single moment I was on the heels and then on the wheels and reached home. Soon we, the couple found ourselves in the hospital and my husband had to undergo an angioplasty. The nightfall took my husband to the  I. C . U and I was in the room, allotted for the bystander. And this was the time when I really longed for the visit of a guest. I wished very badly to be with this guest, for I expected that this guest would soothe me in a soft gentle way. But not even a distant trace,I could view, as if this guest had purposefully kept me away.

Can anybody guess who this guest is? This guest is none other than the VVIP(Very Valuable Intimate Part) of our life, about who I will mention later. His presence is a boon for many people for he visits them regularly every night when they really yearn for his company. He entertains those people in their naps, whenever they feel so. At the same time, he becomes a bane for many others, as he sometimes pays untimely visits to them and interferes with their day-to-day activities. We consider him as a very important guest since his presence is the part and parcel of our life. He can to a certain extent console and comfort us in our worries, tension, tiredness, loneliness, fatigue(both mental and physical), monotony, anxiety etc. But instead of allowing us to lie in his lap at this time, he remains far from us with a snigger on his face. In fact, he deserts us from his reach, throwing us to unwanted rubbish thoughts.

If this guest visits and remains with us in our need for a while,  we may feel a weight off our head. If at all, he is gracious enough to be with us, he moves away from us at the slightest sound of even a pin-drop, prefers he no indulgence. When we want to be away from him while reading and driving, sure he visits many of us putting the driver in jeopardy. This guest is none other than ‘The Great Sleep’. Sleep is a state or condition of our body and mind, which remain relaxed and inactive sometimes in need.

He puts himself in many fancy-dress forms while looming in our eyes.  In insomnia dress, he troubles some people by being an irregular visitor, whereas for some others, in hypersomnia dress, he appears to be a disturbance. These forms of dress that drowns the sleeper in the danger of high B.P and other ailments. In it sometimes he goes to the extent of tarnishing the image of persons, who may indulge in interfering even in others’ sleep for help. And in a third form namely the well known somnambulism; the sleeper walks with a sleepy mind in a dreamy way. The sleeper is unaware of his body that is in action, as the actor Mr.Jayaram does in a motion picture.

Always he is not so playful as to keep himself away from us. Sometimes he seriously blesses us with his company providing much pleasure in leisure. He prefers youngsters to old age people and any amount of time he is ready to spend with the former. Neither, he keeps any gender discrimination nor does he show any age difference in entertaining people. Sleep attains various forms, say sound sleep, distracted sleep, nap, dozing and so on. The nature of sleep depends upon the condition of the body, mind and circumstances of the sleeper. Some people declare his presence by playing the orchestra- snoring, whispering, dialogue etc.- while some others engage themselves in some incoherent conversation. It is interesting to watch the mode and method of sleep a sleeper attains, as a few keep their mouths wide open and a few others extend their tongue beyond their lips.

He, the sleep is very clever because he inclines towards the people, who are comfortable with their physique and psyche. He exhibits no reluctance in approaching them, as he doesn’t have to exert much pressure here. Mostly, he doesn’t like to be with ailing people, as they may remain noisy by uttering screams of pain. But always he is not so merciless, as at times he passes his time with the needy. In fact, some, though they are in need, drive him away by being immersed in unwanted thoughts and feelings, awful games and recreations and untimely reading and works. And yet such people have the habit of blaming him saying 'Sleep is far away, sleep is far away'. It is your own fault, not his. You drive away your baseless thoughts and keep away the internet devices if you want to cuddle him. He sure will stroke you lovingly. Good health, good food, good thoughts, good work and above all good spirit with a heart full of love, no envy will bring sleep beside you. He will turn to be ‘A Guest that Cares, but never Rare in Need.’

Villainy in Modernity

For  life modern,  men, young and old, run.
Villainy and vices choose they with no reluctance.
Villains types copious, wear costumes of shapes many.
Tyranny and tormenting others are some of their attires.
The villains possess and keep in their shelves and safes,
Bribes and dowries  and illegal currencies
.
Succumb, people, to their own greed and odds,
Use, they means, unlawful to guard the cash  amassed.
Noose if any falls on  neck,  untie, they, with no check
Hurdles and hindrance if any, very easily, off they kick.
Luxury and liquor delight them, when merrily they lick.
Sarcasm and satire is the symbol of young faces.

Disorder is the order of the day for  all.
Indiscipline leads the rulers and leaders
In oriental and occidental nations.
Indifference in total covers their dealings..
Corruption gets its reception in nook and cranny.
A surfeit of surliness is found here profoundly.
Friendliness even a morsel is not seen at all.

Power and penny in abundance, triumph.
Panic, common man's mind confuses every moment.
Facilities of star status favour radicals to rejoice.
Polluted politics cuddles crime and malice.
Fear of no kind spoils their sound sleep.
They, instead, break the quiet and calm of others.

Would there be no end to it? if there be no savior?
A hell full of miseries will surround us sure.
The time is high we sprang against these villains.
Oh! Homo-sapiens sapient you, wake up now
And burry the villainy in the tomb of virtues
And try to extract  righteous from everywhere..

'Yes, I am Happy'

Little Ann, lithe though.;
Sad at hapless state,
For not a soul to caress,
Nor a play-fellow;
Wanders amidst trees,
.
A certain tree ahead,
‘Lonely’ thought she,
Tiny voice that voiced,
“Are you happy, tree?”
Long- long branches
In majestic state that bow,
“ I am happy.”
Wonders little Ann,
“But you have nothing!”
Sway the branches
A smile concealed.
‘For, Good little Missy,
Wrong though you are
But earth my mother,
My father brilliant sky,’
 ‘Oh! The good world,
My friend and fellow,’
Thought little Ann,
Calmed by the soothing
That unawares crept,’

Thought her little mind, wondering
‘This beautiful world’
Her mother, father-everyone,
‘Earth the floor, sky the roof’
Then sweet whisper, to loving tree
“ Yes, I am happy,
 Thanks to you.”
